Squeeky noise

My car just started making this high pitched squeeky noise (its a repetative noise). It makes the noise when my car is running but stopped or moving (so Its not my tires). The noise gets faster when I am moving (faster the faster I go). Any thoughts?

Sounds like a belt slipping,or bearing,pulley.

I'd check for a loose or worn fan belt first.

some belt. almost a sure thing. a squeek, but not a rattle, louder when driving. a belt. if your engine pauses for a fraction of a second when slowing or excelerating, a belt. get it fixed soon because if it slips too long, your water-pump may not be working fast enough, but if coolant suddenly flushes into your engine, sometimes that can crack the block.

with the engine OFF, use some lava soap to lubricate the inside surface of the belt if its a v-belt, if your car has a serpentine belt rub both sides. if the squeek goes away replace the belts. check all pulleys for rust around bolts or hairline cracks in the center if any cracks are found replace the pulleys. also if your car has a serpentine belt most of the time it would be money well spent to replace the tensioner with the belt.

1. you have squeek
2. you did not say where the squeek is coming from. is it from engine compartment, from the front or rear, is it when you are touching your brakes(probably not, but just in case), is it coming from what sounds like underbelly of the car, what car is it?

forum assumed it's coming from the engine compartment, but i have seen no indications in your post to think so. "car is running but stopped or moving(??). gets faster when i am moving".

all i can tell is you have squeek, car has to "run" for squeek to appear, and it is speed relevant. you can have culprits from here to the moon making this kind of squeek. more info would have been great. get into a large empty parking lot, bring a friend along, let the friend out and drive around him or her. let them listen to where the noise is coming from. pop car's hood open with engine running and listen to the engine.
pretty much, any spinning part under the hood can make squeek. and there's a big difference between pully squeek and belt squeek. hub bearings can go bad and make squeeks relevant to speed. rubber bushings in suspension components can squeek, shocks and struts as well. my son's rear spoiler squeeked just like a bad bearing, took us couple mths to have that figured.
