Chevy Venture water pump?

I have a 2002 chevy venture. Not sure what size engine is in it offhand. I believe the water pump is going as I hear a slight squeal coming out of it for the last week or so and I have also noticed a smell of antifreeze when I get out of the vehicle, although I haven't seen anthing leaking to date and the level seems to still be up there. Anyways, I don't have a service manual for this vehicle yet and I am wondering if anyone knows how hard it is and the steps to go about changing it. It looks like the pump is located right in the front of the engine compartment and is very easy to get at if I am looking at the right thing. The large radiator hose comes out of it and goes into the radiator and the pulley is on the serpentine belt. Any thoughts. Thanks

If it's the 3.1L engine, the pump is right up front on the corner and is easy to change. A common sign of a water pump starting to fail is a slow leak or drip of coolant from the weep hole on the bottom of the pump bearing housing - a sign that the seal is wearing and letting coolant out - you might look for that to verify before spending $$ on parts. Also, remove the belt and try to wobble the pump pulley - ANY wobble is too much and a sign of worn bearings and therefore the shaft seal. The squealing belt I usually associate with slipping V-belts, which may be due to coolant getting on them.
