96 chevy z71 transmission woes

On this vehicle, the torque converter will not lock up in the auto trans. I had a trouble code for the o2 sensor, and 1406 for the egr. Changed the o2 sensor, temp sensor and tps. Truck runs better but still will not lock up the converter at hiway speeds.......Any solutions?????? I would just as soon not have to take it to a trans shop.

Those sensors have nothing to do with trans, maybe a wire or plug was knocked loose.

4l60e transmissions from 96-99 are known to have valve body problems including hard 1-2 shift and problems with shifting into overdrive or falling in and out of overdrive at highway speeds. I don't know if this is what you are descibing as torque converter not locking up. You can find rebuilt valve bodies for about $200 on the web. But alot of other things can cause one of these electroniclly controlled tranny's to act up. Like plugs, wires , cap & rotor. Good Luck.
