That's part of the evaporative emission control system. Should be in the engine compartment. Your best bet is to go by either a parts store or the dealer's parts department and have them show you one, then you'll know what to look for. Should be small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and will probably have an electrical connector and a couple of narrow vacuum hoses on it; one line runs to your charcoal cannister and the other to somewhere on the intake manifold. The cannister collects fuel vapors from your gas tank and stores them until the next time you start the engine. Then the purge valve opens briefly and the vapors are sucked into the intake and burned. You could also have a related problem masquerading as a bad purge valve. Be sure to check that the vacuum hoses aren't disconnected or leaking. A bad seal on the gas cap can also give check engine codes relating to the evap system.

Also a tip for in the future; you can get your vehicle scanned for free at many parts stores such as Auto Zone (they hope you'll buy the replacement part from them). It's just a quick scan for codes with no other diagnostics provided, but often gives you the info you need without having to pay the dealer's $99 (I'm guessing) scanner charge.
