If you what to do your own work, the first place to start is a service manual for your car. it will tell you exactly what is involved, then you can decide if you have the skills and the tools.

Normally I might refer you to the procedure at autozone.com in their repair section, but lately it's been under repair itself and largley useless. Either take Bill's suggestion and pick up a Haynes or Chilton's manual or you may be able to buy a subscription at AllData.com. Not sure if they will go back that far or not.
