Low cost fix for "BRAKE " light problem

2001 malibu brake light won't go out due to false fluid level sensor indicator.
Slipped the sensor out of the bottem of master cylinder and placed the sensor just under the sensor mount. Apparently there is a floating actuator inside of the master cylinder resivoir that has sank to the bottom and falsely triggered the brake light. My fluid level is good and brakes and antilock are OK. The brake light went out imediately after I pulled the sensor away from the master cylinder.
I DON"T recommend this as a permanant fix ! but rather as a trouble shooting tool.

Glad you don't. Brakes are the only thing between the car occupants and death. And not all problems that light the indicator are just for fluid levels. ALWAYS have brake warnings lights check, immediately.

I have a 1994 Saturn SL2. I had the battery cables disconnected and was cleaning the terminals. I noticed the battery box needed cleaning also. I turn the key on, put the car in nutural, and pushed it out of the gagage. Sat the brake and forgot to TURN THE KEY OFF. When I finish cleaning the battery I connected the postive cable to the terminal. When I connected the negative cable I heard click click click. I tightened the cable and all seem well for afew munites. 1 The odometer was not working, the speedometer was fine. 2 The engine was rattleing a little I checked all the fuses under the hood and inside on the passenger side could not find any bad. Chrysler air conditioning temp fluctuates

The vehicle is a 1990 Dodge Caravan, 3.3L v6. The air conditioning system was converted four years ago by me to R-134a. At that time I did the required system flush, compressor replacement, expansion valve, and drier. It has performed very well for four years. About a week ago the outlet air temperature began to cycle between warm and cold as I drove. I put the gages on today and here are the results: Outside ambient air temp is 80 F, R/H 27%, static system pressure before engine start: 92 psi After vehicle warmed up and idling high at 1500 rpm A/C was put to Max cool, hi fan: Hi side 225, Lo side 30 After 5 minutes run time: Hi side oscillates between 200-250. Lo side oscillates between 25-34. As hi is coming down, low is going up. Oscillation time is about 30-45 seconds.
