transmission slipping

I have a 93 plymouth voyager and the transmission slips in drive when I stop then I try to go it revs and then goes in gear anyone know what this could be and is this alot of money to fix? thanks for any response

First off, check your tranny fluid. Does it smell burnt? It should be nice and red.
If you attempt to flush system, it may make the problem worse.
Most likely your transmission is failing, in which case, a rebuilt tranny will cost you at least $1000 to replace.
