1995 Mercury Mystique ??

When I turn the knob that controls the a/c, fans, defrost, on the panel, nothing happens. It was working fine today, there was some squeeling sounds coming from the engine earlier, probably the a/c, but now the control on the dash turns nothing on. all the other lights and radio, clocks all seem to work fine. I have looked through all the fuses, below steering column and the fuses under the hood and all seem fine. Is there something I am over looking, maby another fuse box or is it a wiring problem all of a sudden? THanks for any help!!

RE:1995 Mercury Mystique ??

None of the controls work, the speed of the fan, the blower will not come on. I took it too an Auto Parts store and they said it could be the switch or the blower gone bad, or the compressor just went out which could cause the control panel not to work. I don't know. Any suggestions, I will probably try and take it to a Wire specialist Monday, unless I can try something else. We looked at all the fuses, and they are good. We also tried switching some Air Conditioning relay switches and they didn't change anything. So I'm lost on this one. My gut says it's the switch gone bad, or the compressor. It was making a squeeling noise this week, and when I would turn the air off, the noise would stop. It got worse, so I started cranking the car, and waiting until I turned the air on, then it just wouldn't turn on, the blowers or the defrost or anything connected to the switch. And we also looked at the compressor when i would turn the switch on for the Air, and the compressor would not start. Thanks for any help...

The actual control panel may be shot. Call a local junkyard, or if a friend has a similar vehicle, and swap them out.

cheapest

The control panel would be the cheapest and most easy to replace. you might even find out when you pull the old one a plug that fell off if you are lucky.
