Olds Silhouette Transmission

My son's girlfriend 2002 Olds Silhouette with an automatic transmission quit working the other day. The Van will not go in any gear. My son drained the fluid and it is black. Supposed his girlfriend checked the fluid a couple of months ago and it was ok. Linikage is ok and no dtc's. Can anyone tell me what to look for to determine the problem. Would it be transmission, torque converter, etc. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Tranny fluid can be black in color. If he did check the right drain plug, then your tranny/torque converter is shot.
