HELP!!! 96 Astro will not start - Fuel Suppl./Press. ctr.??
I have a 96 Astro with 110k, 6CYL. The fuel pump will not come on. I replaced the pump and filter - still the same problem. I replaced the relay - no luck. I then jumped the conection on the relay port - and the pump will run. The relay is energized thru ECM. Once the pum is running the engine will start and run - once I remove the jumper to run the fuel pump the pump stops and engine stops running. Is there a pressure switch or something of that kind what tells the pump to turn on? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Really! YOU TOO!!
Had the exact same problem.
Check the connection on the top of the fuel pump carrier. (where the wires go through the top of the tank) I think that yours should be a yellow connector. Unplug the wires on the inside of the tank and check out the pins. If any of them look black or burnt, or look like they have a tar like substance on them, there's your problem. Bad connection. Hopefully, the harness from the carrier to the pump is the problem.
Here's a link that solved my issue:

I messed with this 3 times. It never failed that right after I topped off the 26 gal. fuel tank, the darn thing would die...
