Chevy Truck Problem
I have a 94 chevy pu 5.7 engine, auto trans, when you stop at a light the engine slows down and dies. It starts back up but does it again at the next light. Seems to only do it when the engine is warm.
Everyone I've talked to said it was most likely one of three things.
1. Idle Control Valve
2. Map Sensor
3. TPS
I changed all three and still have the problem, anyone have any ideas???

it could be alot of things does it idle ok when the vehicle is restarted or does it still want to die if you remain at idle speed in gear for awhile?
if it only dies once at the initial stop you might check for a sticking egr valve could possibly unhook it for awhile to test it out to see if it still dies.

Other possibles:
Fuel filter
Fuel pump
Ignition module, although you probably wouldn't get an immediate restart
Coolant temp sensor (the one for the computer) - had this on my wrecker a while back, but I got a CEL code.
Next time the check engine light comes on, I would immediately pull over, switch off the engine, and do a code check; very easy on an OBD-1 GM:

Unless you went several days between seeing the light and checking codes or you did a battery disconnect there should have been something stored.
