Gate Open Ajar Light On After Fix
2001 Chevy Blazer (2WD)
My rear glass button wasn't working, so I took apart the gate, found the problem (small plastic piece broke - i fabricated a fix and tested - works perfectly). I put it back together and had a LOT of problems getting the top glass to 'latch' when shutting it (engaging the lock). I'm sure theres a easier way to adjust this, but I couldn't figure it out. After trial and error I finally got it locking every time I closed the upper glass.
With everything put back together, I got in the car and noticed my 'gate open' light was on. A feature of my car is that if a door is open and the keys are in the ignition you can't use the electric door lock to lock the drivers door.(this prevents you from locking your keys in the car)
I double checked the rear gate and glass.. locked up tight.
The only thing I can think of, is that I unhooked something (whatever tells the car that the gate is closed) or that it's not lined up, etc..
Anyway.. anyone have a suggestion on what exactly to check? (what triggers the gate closed sensor)
Also.. any suggestions on a easy way to adjust the rear-lock so that the top glass closes/latches without all the problems that I had?
Thanks!

There's a switch down where the gate closes. Usually a little pushing button type thing.
Hopefully with the rigging you had to do, everything is still flush and aligned when closed?
