'97 Lincoln mark 8 air ride problem

Thanks in advance for your help! I have this mark8 front end is pumped up high and the back end is leaning a bit to one side but near normal position, so I shut off the air ride switch...thought maybe the front end air bags may blow, is there any danger of this happening? And is there any way they will level off themselves or do I need repairs and how dangerous is this condition..the car ride very hard..Thanks Frank

For what its worth,my brother-in-law had a similiar problem with his Lincoln ride system. he had the bladders in the rear replaced as they were leaking bad. Then the fronts went for some reason. He tried to have the air ride system replaced with regular car shocks, couldn,t be done. He sold the car.$$$$

FWIW, I hate those damn things; you haven't seen a PITA until you've tried to tow one of them with a failed system that has the car just about sitting on the pavement.

If the car's in decent shape and you plan on keepiong it, I would just go ahead and bite the bullet and have it converted to traditional springs. About $400 for parts:

And these guys claim to buy back some of your air ride components for remanufacture; hadn't heard of that before:
