Is it necessary to lift the engine to remove the oil pan for gasket replacement? It seems so based on my first attempt, there is just not enough room between the tranny and the front engine support. It may be that the engine support must be removed and the engine supported.
Any additional comments would be appreciated.

What year is this?
Some vehicles do require the removal of a corssmember and the engine supported. Gotta love the engineers.
Wow, after reading some procedures for a 93-98 Z28, you gotta dismantel a lot.
