1990 Mazda 626 A/C Problem

When I turn on A/c switch to # 1, I can hear compressor running and RPM increases but the blower is not running. My blower works only Number 3 & 4 where compressor is not running no more even the A/C switch light on the panel goes off.

I tried to connect compressor direct to a (+) battery terminal, the a/c runs fine but RPM goes very low, it seems like its about to stall.

What can I do, or whats wrong?

Check your refrigerant level. When the pressure gets low enough, the compressor struggles and will cause the engine to almost stall.

It also sounds like the resistor pack is going out which is causing only the other fan speeds to work.

Also check your alternator and battery. AC compressors draw alot of power.

I just recharge with 3 cans of 134a. It gets cold when I connect dirrect to the battery.

Where can I find resistor pack, is this something I can change my self or find complete Speed switch.

THREE CANS?????.................That system only holds 2 lbs.......maybe a little less........If you put THREE CANS in it, it's probably overcharged for openers.......
