Autobody repair on 1976 Ford E-150

For repairing rusted metal and blistered paint, please advise the various types of sandpaper that are required, I am of course referring to the grades of sandpaper.

Hey Wayne, I also have a 76 ford - F-100, 4x4 ... it's had it's share of rust too

You can't really give a generic answer on what sandpaper to use, different grits have different uses Generally you will start off with whatever grit is raggressive enough to get you down to clean metal and the progressively go to fine grits to smooth it out. After new metal, bondo, etc. and you've gotten it looking decent, you will prime it and then if it looks ok with wet primer, you are ready for the final wet sand with 400 grit.
