'99 Lunina Front Breaks

Hi,

I changed all four wheels (all discs) with pads and rotors late last fall. The other day my wife said there was a grinding on the driver side front brake. I thought, no way.

I could see through the rim that she was right, the rotor was ground shiny. I took the pads off and they were GONE. I replaced them and the rotor.

The other breaks are fine with the amount of wear I would have imagined they would have had from the last change.

Any idea what would cause the quick wear on the driver front? Is the caliper not working right?

Any help is appreciated.

Trip

The caliper might have froze on the rotor. Whenever I change pads, I spray down the caliper real well with brake cleaner. Did you remove the brake reservour cap prior to pushing the piston back in? Sometimes if you don't, it causes excess pressure which could damage the system.

I would give your system a good bleed as well.

as above or tell her 2 start driving with one foot instead of riding the brakes. With it just one side, my guess is as above the caliper

one wheel????...............caliper or hose problem...........If you can feel the wheel is tight while trying to spin it..........crack the bleed screw.........If it squirts and the wheel frees up, it's a hose..........otherwise caliper.....
And bleed the entire system..............Brake fluid absorbs moisture.........which sinks to the lowest point..........the calipers and wheel cyls....
