Water temp light stays on after replacing sensor.Do I have to reset the code or light and how to do that.

Sounds like you are overheating. Check your coolant level and replace thermostat for starters.
When the car is shut off for hours and you start it, does it automatically come on, or does it come back on after driving some?

and check the belt!!!!!!....If this is a 6cyl engine the water pump is NOT where you'd expect it to be.............It's in the REAR of the engine and is driven by a belt from the camshaft.............
