Cadillac 1998

My Freon is low and the A/C wont turn on, I have to jump the low pressure cycle switch plug, before i can refill, where is the switch plug, and how do i jump it ?. Thnx.

You can't get an accurate reading without the compressor being on anyways so you might not be low.

You can try and jumper the compressor to see if that's the problem.

Look for the pressure switch first, it's usually easier to jumper it there. It is usually located on the high pressure side tubing near the radiator/condensor. It will have a wire harness going to it.

use a hot wire to the compressor wiring ,one wire is a ground and the other is the hot for the compressor clutch.this will engage the clutch and you can check your readings or add freon.get freon with a dye in it so you can find your leak and fix it properly,since freon is getting more expensive.you can also try using a jump wire at the low pressure switch which should be by the accumalator that big silver canister ,just a piece of wire between the plug connetor for the switch.this should complete the circuit making the system think it has enough freon
