99 rav4 transmission fluid color
a car repair shop told me my 99 rav4 transmission's fluid is very dark and recommended to flush my transmission, I choose not to flush it. Later I checked my car's transmission's fluid(I pull out a stick under the hood, labeled transmission fluid) and it is pink-ish. Color is not brown or black. But I don't know how to tell if pink-ish color is good or bad. Is there other way to check transmission's fluid color? Months ago, a automotive instructor warn me not to flush the transmission, but I forgot to ask why, Does anybody know why?

They are trying to sell you something you probably don't need. Tranny fluid should be reddish in color, and dark red is not to uncommon. You just don't want the fluid to smell burnt.
It's not recommended you flush your tranny at these shops if the tranny has alot of miles. It basically shocks your tranny into submission.
I've only change the tranny fluid in my car once just because I was bored. I've had alot of cars with well over 140k miles on and none had a tranny flush.
