FM transmitter acting up in cig lighter
I have an FM transmitter for an Ipod that works perfect in other vehicles but my 03 Astro work van. I just started pausing the Ipod for a second and then starting again. I have checked wiring, changed the fuses, tried in the other 12volt outlets and it does the exact same thing. There is no indication that it is losing power either. Could this be some kind of a voltage dip. I also have noticed an unusual amount of static on the AM radio side when I step on the gas pedal. I know this is a crazy one but it is driving me mad.
Thanks for any help.

Sounds like there is a fault in the power cords grounding wire. If the ground wire is not secure in the plug, you will get engine noise interference like you are stating. I would try a new plug.

Also check the spark plug wires. Make sure that they are firmly attached to the spark plugs. Follow each wire from one end to the other to be certain that the wires are not touching any metal.
