Small dents and scratches

Imy vehicle has 1 unsightly dent and a few dents (knicks and dings) that I am wondering the best way to get rid of without having the shell out several hundreds of dollars. The dent is rather small, and the scratches varty in length (not sure of the depth)

Any suggestions on what I can do? I have never done any body work on a vehicle, but I am willing to try anything to save a few hours of labor, if thats what it takes.

There are different methods that are cheap.

1. Get a dent puller (usually a suction cup from a Autozone)

2. Rub dry ice on the dent for a minute, then let the dent should pop back out.

Dent repair.

Something else to consider is "Paintless Dent Repair". Often the technician can get in behind the small dent and by using special tools the dent can be pushed back out without causing any paint damage. Look in the phone book for this service or ask a car dealership if they know anyone that does this work. As far as scratches, small scratches might be removed by using a polishing compound. Heavier scratches might need an application of touch up paint.
