When you push the 4 hi or 4 lo button do they flash? I have a 97 jimmy that did this, I was told to disconnect the battery for an hour and then try it. I thought they were crazy but it worked. Good Luck!

That's easier said than done. First there are 2 different transfer cases, one with automatic 4wd and one without. Then DTC's need to be retrieved (if any). The automatic transfer case needs a GM scan tool to get the codes.

the module is in the passenger kick panel check for corrosion at the connector. also check vaccum to the front axle solenoid under the battery tray. common problems
