Axle tube leaking

I am going to restore my 1978 TransAm and I noticed the driver side axle tube is leaking where it meets the differential housing. Is there a proper way to repair this or must I get a new rearend. I want to do it the proper way. Thanks

Is this a leak, or has the lube just "weeped" from where the axle tubes meet the 3rd member housing? The tube assemblies are a press fit into the housing and over time you will see a small amount of weepage or staining in the area where the two parts come together. I would wire brush the axle and paint it. You could apply a small bead of RTV to where the tube meets the housing.
