442/455 EVAP codes: 2000 Dodge Stratus
To make a long story short;
It started out as a 442 code. Gas cap replaced, no change. Mechanic dropped tank, replaced the LDP and after a week (to reset the monitor) the code changed into a 455. Dealer said it's usually the LDP, not the canister or valve (?).
The vehicle hasn't been back yet for another look. How common are the other components (other than hoses/clamps)?

If the LDP is replaced, the only thing left is a medium/large leak in the EVAP system.
Here is what my Alldata says: (I have a 01 Stratus)
SYMPTOM
P0455-EVAP LEAK MONITOR LARGE LEAK DETECTED
TEST NOTE
This symptom is diagnosed using the test P0442-EVAP LEAK MONITOR MEDIUM (0.040) LEAK DETECTED.
WHEN MONITORED
Immediately after a cold start, with battery/ambient temperature between 4 °C (40 °F) and 32 °C (90 °F) and coolant temperature within -12 °C (10 °F) of battery/ambient.
SET CONDITION
There is a leak larger than 0.080" in the evaporative system.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
Confirmed leak in the EVAP system
Intermittent LDP monitor failure
Here is the troubleshooting chart the dealer will use. Not sure if you can use any of it. I had copy data to photobucket.

Thanks for that. Questions;
1. What's a "Good trip counter"?
2. How long does the Evap monitor take to reset after the fault codes are cleared?
