93 dodge colt alternator wiring
the brown wire is not connected . is it the ground ? someone else has spliced a new plug on and only the other 2 are connected and the brown is bare .

Brown wire is usually the wire going to the instrument panel to tell you if there is a charging problem.
There should be total of 4 wires (usually).
1. Alternator/instrument ground wire
2. Instrument panel wire
3. Charging cable to the batt/starter.
4. Ignition
