92 2500 chev tranny troubles
1 month ago it started to rev high between shifts then slam into gear, but got me home every time. then I towed my boat and lost some fluid. got home ok (about an hour on the hwy)next morning I put a quart in it, ran for a bit , now only have first and reverse. Not sure but I think the tranny is a THM700-R4. Love the truck but can`t afford to replace tranny...any help would be good

tranny is 4speed automatic with OD . The fluid does not smell burnt. It turns out that I lost some fluid from a rubber seal on the rear driver side of the tranny ( a cup shaped and sized piece of tin with a round seal aprox 3in. in diameter that is just a presure fit) the leak is fixed, the fluid is up but no still gear shifting
