Rattling
WIthin the last week I have been hearing a rattling from under the hood I believe. Now within the lat 2-3 weeks the steering wheel is not centered. By that I mean normally your hands are at 3 and 9 oclock and now it's more like 10 and 4. I dont know if these are related but the rattling only seems to happen when in reverse or forward. Never in Park....it's a 94 ford taurus automatic 3.0 any ideas? could this be alignment related?

With either of the two gears engaged the engine is loaded and is likely a little rougher than in neutral. Anything loose will shake a little more.
The two (alignment and rattle) may or may not be related, but back to Mark's advice, get it taken care of. The alignment variance at the steering wheel points to a pretty good problem.
Hope this helps,
Bob
