Is it possible to change the waterpump on a 1994 Linloln 3.8 as a DIY? Does it involve taking the enging loose/out of the car? I have the old pump all loose but I can't seem to get it out passed the four studs that bolt it to the engine
Note: this is a "side ways" engine and the waterpump is over by the passenger side of the engine compartment ... not much clearance :-(
I need some helpful advice/info.
Thanks

You need to take both motor mounts at the front of the eng loose and jack the eng up. The upper motor mount nuts are 18mm and real hard to get to!!!! You need a non impact, 3/8" swivel socket that is simi deep, and a long extension. You might be able to get the lower nuts loose easier but the lower studs are hard to get lined up back in the frame. Good luck.
