Hello:
The motor of my Explorer 1991 6V 4.0L is lazy with out power..
I found rust in one of the spark plug .. I think I have the head piston gasket damage //
I don't want to spend a lot of money for repair this failure .
I found Thermagasket motor treatment on-line.
This treatment works ... ???

There is no "mechanic in a can" that will fix a mechanical problem
If it were that easy, all the mechanics would be all over it...trust me
You think they like telling you it's gonna be $500 (or whatever) to fix it?
If they could say $25 and dump something in the crankcase, they would

There are some products on the market that appear to do some of the things claimed. I noticed a similar product on the counter of my favorite parts house a while back and inquired about it. They said they've heard from customers that it actually worked. How well it works I'm sure depends on many factors such as overall health of the engine, extent of damage, etc.
Having said all that, I would not use it except on a vehicle that was simply not worth the cost of doing a proper repair and where I figured I had nothing to lose and resigned myself to scrapping it if it didn't work.

I had a 86 Astro van 4.3 with a headgasket leak which kept fouling one plug. I found a product at Autozone in a silver can called block sealer that said it created a ceramic seal. I used it per the instructions on the can except that it said to run the engine with the effected plug removed for 30 minutes and I let it run for 90 minutes, the van had 110K then and 165k when I sold it and never had another problem. So in my particular application it did work, a shop wanted $600 to replace the head gaskets and the can of sealer was $6-8 I thought it was worth the risk. Have a good one. Geo
