I was listening to the car repair call-in radio show as I do every Saturday morning and they stressed the importance of proper grounding of the starter in these cars today that often have dissimilar metal problems. They said to brighten up the mating surfaces and use star washers. They claimed many of the so-called car hard start problems are caused from poor ground connection, from their experience - not just theory. Especially when the starter starts hard without a lot of amp draw. Thought I'd mention that.
