Does anybody know how to...
Does anyone know how to replace a windshield on an 88 Suburban? I have taken afew windshields out in my day but they were the kind you cut the urethane with a wire. This windshield seems to have a rubber gasket it seats in. I pulled out the strip in the middle of the gasket on the outside and worked the seal free from the glass (cracked it all to hell) but can't figure out exactly how to get the glass to pop out, or how to get it back in for that matter. Does the whole gasket come out with the glass or is the glass supposed to come out first.
If anyone can help me out of this jam it would be much appreciated. I hope I didn't get in over my head!!!

Windshield replacement should only be done by a pro. A windshield is a MAJOR safety device and a structural one as well.
They can be difficult. There are special tools that the pro's use to remove the seal/caulking.
I would not recommend doing this yourself. Save yourself the labor and headache and get it done right.
