I am trying to replace a Stop light switch on my 1994 GMC Sierra. Can any one refer me to a website, or send me a diagram or step by step instructions for replacing a stop light switch? Thanks DD

Finding detailed instructions for replacing that small a part is going to be difficult. If you have the new switch and can locate the existing one, the procedure may be easy to visualize. The switch will be mounted in a bracket just above the brake pedal, gernerally.

Remove the brake switch retaining clip, which is on the left side of the brake switch. Push upward on the brake switch and then pull the switch to the left. The switch will come off. You may need to disconnect the wiring connector first, I cannot remember, its been a while. Put the new switch in, then push it downward so the switch sits on the brake pedal push rod. Install cretaining clip, connect connector-done.
My hands and arms are of good size and I have a very hard time doing these. I almost always damage the retaining clip upon removal of it, thus giving me no other choise but to replace the retaining clip.
It's a pretty straight forward repair, and in my case, requires a little patience because it is tight quarters for my bigass hands and arms.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
