1999 Chevy S10 Blazer air/smog pump hose burned

My Blazer has a pump under my radiator and can't tell if it's working. Been told it's an air/smog pump. The tee fitting melted and so did the 90 degree rubber hose below the alternator which goes into a check value. How can I check the pump?

ok check valves on the air tubes are bad blowing exhaust back into ur hoses also up north here was very common for water in the air pump to freeze
if u take the hoses off at the exhaust manifold airtubes and start the truck u will hear it and feel it leaking exhausht past the check valves

Oh yeah, we see alot of these come in with water in them. Do you recall if the service bulletin has been performed on your truck for the secondary air injection system?
