Not sure how similar the 1st generation Intrepid's are to the 2nd gen, but when I did the belts on a 95 I believe I had to use a box end wrench which was long enough and had enough clearance to slip onto the head. Do you have a Hayne's or Chilton's manual? Usually they have a few tips and tricks. Also check www.dodgeintrepid.net

I did a 2.7 Litre about 2 months ago in a 1999 Intrepid.
Seems I remember ?????????????-------
Just a wench after the tensioner was loosened.
Was simple after I did it.
Are you working on a 2.7 V-6 ??

I finally got it.A friend of mine looked at it and figured out he had to go up from the bottom with a long swivel socket.Thank you for your responses
