Why not just call a salvage yard and get a used one? Either from another Ranger or Explorer.

Never mind, posted my question on a local forum and got a great answer-it's very easy to mark your new dipstick. do an oil change with the appropriate quatity of oil. put in the new stick then pull it out. mark the top of the oil indication and now you have the correct level when full. measure down 3/4" and put another mark and this would be a low level. do this and your problem is solved.-Thanks anyway!
