'95 Mercury Grand Marquis problems

My '95 Mercury Grand Marquis has been giving me fits. At first, had to start it at least twice in order for it to keep running. Gradually got to where we had to start it 4 or 5 times. Once started, it would stall under acceleration. I removed AIC valve and cleaned it and reinstalled it and it now will start the first time, but it would still stall under acceleration. I unplugged the MAF sensor and it seemed to run normal again. Is there any way to make sure it needs a new MAF sensor or is there another sensor sending signals to the MAF? Please help if you can.

Wink Guessing anyone?

I am not a ford expert, but on some other cars, if you suspect a bad Mass Air Flow sensor and the car runs better with it unplugged, it is prbably bad. Just one mans theory though. Good luck
