Strange AC Issue
I had my 1999 5.4L Expedition taken to Sam’s club to replace the battery. I got the car 15 minutes later and AC was blowing hot air. It was ice-cold before they replaced the battery, so I went right back to them and they said that it is coincidence and they have no idea why AC shouldn’t work. I really don’t know what to think, I know that battery replacement has nothing to do with AC, but at the same time AC was working just fine before they have replaced the battery.
Is there any AC part or wire that they could accidentally disconnect or break while changing the battery? Or is there anything that I can check to see what the problem is. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Thanks for your help.

Sorry to hear your luck.
Though replacing the battery would not normal do anything to the system, there might have been a chance they snagged a wire somewhere.
Carefully inspect the wires near the battery itself.
When you select "A/C", do you hear a clicking type noise from the AC compressor?
Often times, AC problems are hard to diagnose and usually require specific tools and gauges to properly diagnose.

I took my car to the mechanic shop not far from my work. Guy over there didn’t even open the hood and said that compressor works; however there is some kind of actuator behind the dashboard and it needs to be replaced. He estimated the parts and labor $800.00. It took him only two minutes to diagnose the problem and give me an estimate. Is this normal? Is this obvious and common problem that this guy was able to diagnose it with in a minute?
Bay the way, the AC on the back of the car works just fine, however, it doesn’t do any good, since in order to use it I have to turn on the AC in the front, which blows hot air. Any recommendations will be appreciated. Thanks for your help
