heater core problems

I have a 1992 Caprice I need to R & R the heater core. I have the cover off, and the bracket that holds the core in place. My question is: how do you disconnect the quick-connect hoses from the core?

I haven't seen them in a while, but there should be a white tab that you pull up then you should be able to disconnect them.

Some couplers need a special tool that is kind of like a two pronged fork that releases clips in the connector.

Any way you can take a pic and post it here?

They are using quick connects for those to? Probably work like fuel line ones or for anything else. I think you have to push in on the colored plastic inner ring, but not 100% sure. Wait for other replies or call auto parts store, as I'll bet all these work the same way.

Since no more replies yet, it be to your advantage to also Google as I have been doing, to try to help, and I have come up with various different types. It is important to learn how to do it so you don't wreck it, obviously, as that could get costly. Also you need to most likely make sure your cooling system is not under pressure when you do so.

I typed in various things, - but "heater core quick connect" produced exploded view of GM model. Maybe Ford had one also, and who knows what else.
