gas can cap is not car specific, correct?
The title says all. I just want to make sure that I can get any gas can cap. I am not talking about old non-pressurized type. Thanks.

For the cars' tank?
There are a lot of generics that would work, I'm sure. However, there may be some design considerations that would dictate application. Fitting is one thing, but the pressure control for the evap systems may be more proprietary.
Hope this helps,
Bob

Generics would work but they must provide for the correct tank venting and pressure. Even generics have specific automobiles that they fit. Be sure any cap you get specifically identifies your make and model as being one that cap is designed for.
