96 Eclipse CVC Joint

I am trying to replace the CVC joint (drivers side) in my daughters car, the old one failed completely, never made any clicking sounds or anything. By completely I mean it came apart where the two pieces are joined, now I can't get the other half out of the transmission. It is a manual, is there a trick to it? Or do you just "pop" it out? I've been trying this but its not working>

It will take a pry bar against the transaxle case to remove it. You can usually rent these from a Autozone.

A pry bar a.k.a. puller

Yeah, I got about 4 different prybars under there, my garage is such a mess with the kids quads and bikes and yes my tools that the car wouldn't fit all the way in and it started pouring rain so I quit for awhile hoping to find a miracle way to do it.
Thanks
