Likely you just have some seepage past your valve guide seals. Check close to see if the smoke isn't slightly bluish and smells of oil smoke. If it really is white and smells sweet, possible head gasket or intake manifold gasket problem Options: Live with it or have the seals replaced if its valve seals; most people just live with it on older vehicles.
Head gasket or intake manifold gasket leaking coolant into cylinder you'll want to get fixed.

Boy, I couldn't tell ya?
I JUST got finished doing a head gasket on a 90 GMC pick up, 4.3 liter. While I was in there I changed the exaust vavles, lapped them all changed all the valve guides and all the rest.
Thing blows a bigger puff of BLUEISH smoke then it ever did.(just at start up.) Cleaned alot of carbon build up off the base and lower vavle stem, thinkin that might allow more seapage but, long story longer, I have no idea, just some guesses at this point. Sorry dude.
