Hood latch cable broken
I have a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice Classic with a broken hood latch cable, how do I get into the engine compartment?

You have to practice being a contortionist with very good vision.
In most cars, you can see where the cable hooks to the latch under the hood. If there is enough cable to grab, you ay be able to use a plier to pull on it to release the latch. If not, you can sometimes find a place to lever against so you can move the latch with a screwdriver or other lever.
It takes a bit of investigation and a supple arm/wrist to get to the latch.

On some cars you can disconnect the plastic under panels at the bumper and reach up in front of the radiator to either pull the cable or take out the bolts that hold the latch on.
Hope this helps,
