Broken door handle
I have a 97 Buick Park Avenue, and I broke the handle to the driver side door.
Does anyone know where you can find directions/specs to put another one on? i hear it would cost big bucks to fix in the shop, which i cant afford that now and I am getting sick of crawling through the passanger side..lol
thx

You need to remove the inner door panel for starters. It should be held on by a couple screws (usually along the bottom or sides) then pry it off with a flat head screwdriver. You may brake some of those cheap plastic tabs that also help secure it on, but don't worry, they sells these at auto parts stores.
With the panel off (disconnect any harnesses) you may need to peel back some plastic sheathing.
With the inner door exposed, you will then notice they did not make it user friendly because there are only a couple small access holes to work in.
Looking in the door, visually check that the metal linkage is not broken. If the metal linkage rod seems good, then you then should have some access to remove the door handle which should be held on with two screws or so.
You could probably get the parts from a salvage yard for less money.
