1999 ford explorer
can someone tell me how to fix my problem?i have a 99 explorer 4.0L sohc engine. the overdrive light comes on after a few minutes of driving it wont turn off when i push the button on gear shift. engine slows down when i take my foot off accelerator.thanks in avvance ted

Ford has had issues with this in the past. Typically it's the valve body gaskets on/in the transmission.
Check your tranny fluid. The fluid should not smell burnt or be black. Compare the smell of your current fluid to a new quart.
