Fuel Cutoff Light on '90 Merc Trace

Hello,
Fuel cutoff light on in dash. will not start. Changed Pressure regulator not help. fuell pump yields good stream from filter.
Where is the inertia switch in the model? Or could it be something else. Fuel pressure at rail nil.
Thanks

Look in the driver's footwell on the firewall. It should be somewhere up behind the pedals. I've never had to find it on an Escort/Tracer, but on the 3 Ford vehicles I've had to find the inertia switch on, it's been there.

I've also heard that in some vehicles they located the switch in the trunk behind the carpet that hides the shock towers.

Hope that helps,

Pretty sure it's in the trunk/hatch
Not sure if the panel it's behind is marked on this year
Might have to hunt for it

Yes, check in the trunk, probably in the area of the left rear fender.

Some models also behind the passenger side kick panel.

Have seen them near the tunnel hump under the dash and in the trunk behind the false side panel.
Check the op manual.

I had a '91 Tracer. IIRC, the reset switch was in the trunk near one of the hinges. It's a black unit with a red button.
