trailer light connector

I have a 2004 Ford Explorer with the V8. The running light connector on the trailer light connector is not working. I think there is a relay somewhere that controls this. Can I replace it and if so, where would I find the part and where are the relays located?

ok im going to guess here , your explorer most likely doesnt have the tow package so trailer light connector will be just hooked up to wires for your explorer's tailights.
so it could be a loose wire or something, now if you do have the 7 pin connector by rear bumper, your fuse box should have separate fuses or relays for trailer lights, on chevy trucks they're marked as " trl lft trn" or " trl rght turn
"
