95 ford probe wont crank

battery is good just wont turn over can it be rod bearings and can I get a how to for it

What happens when you turn the key? IF the motor is locked up you will hear a real loud click of it trying to start. And I believe headlights would dim way down due to the resistance load.

Remove the spark plugs or at least the ones you can get to, and try to turn a pulley such as the alternator pulley by pulling on the belt with one hand while you aid in turning the pulley with the other hand. I have done this. (Or if you can get to the main crank pulley and use a socket and ratchet in the center - but often with cars today there is not room down in there). If you can't get the engine to turn while in neutral, it indeed would be seized up.

Just curious, but what would make you jump to the rod bearings as a suspect?

My dad ran his car out of oil over 22 years ago and the overhead cam fuse-welded to the cam bearings. I had to rebuild it in the driveway (the machine shop helped. ).
