2002 Chevy Tracker Electrical Problem

Engine electrical systems began to fail, seconds later the rps shot up and acceleration was minimal, then it died. I replaced the altenator, however, the remote door lock doesn't work and the headlights don't come on when the engine is started. Furthermore, the bright lights will activate if I pull the lever to its temp usse position, but not in its perm use position. Fuses, are good, battery is good, altenator is good, lamps are good. It was suggested that the multi function switch i the steering column needed to be replaced, another thought was the throttle position sensor? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
