2003 focus check engine light
#1

Our 2003 ford focus check engine light has been on for a couple of days. I took the car to Advance Auto and they plugged it up with their OBD checker.
It coded: P0705 Transmission Range Sensor, circuit malfunction (PRNDL input).
We have noticed that the car has not been shifting out smoothly. It is an automatic, by the way.
Any one know much about this sensor, such as possible costs involved, part + labor?
I am taking it to a transmission guy tomorrow. He is very well respected in the area and suppose to be very reasonable on his prices.
Hopefully it will not be too costly, being we are so close to Christmas.

Shouldn't be to bad to replace this sensor.
It is located right above the fluid pan (on tranny) drivers side rear.
There is a electrical connector and it's held on by two bolts. I think a special tool is needed, but your tranny guy should have it.
